About Columbia City, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Columbia City is a community in Indiana with a population of about 9,000.  The town was founded in 1839, originally called “Columbia.” It would stay a very tiny township until the completion of the Pittsburgh, Fort Wayne, & Chicago Railway about 15 years later. This caused a swift expansion; attracting businesses and settlers. The population tripled between 1860 and 1875. The area is attractive for many reasons including moderate seasonal weather and family-friendly and safe communities. This is as true today as it ever was.

Columbia City’s population would keep on growing over the upcoming years, and into the current day.  The area’s seasonal weather, relatively mild, weather and family-friendly environment has allowed it to continue to be a favorite suburb for young people, families and older retirees. Over the years, Columbia City has been recognized for the manufacture of diverse things, such as car parts, plastics, and blue jeans. Throughout the years, Columbia City has maintained a rather secure economy and has always been a great place to find employment.  Columbia City is a  rapidly emergent community. In the last 15 years, the town has experienced a 20% population growth!

Part of what makes this town so lovely is its community spirit. If you visit in the winter you have to check out The Walk of Trees for free and vote on favorite Christmas tree that has been decorated by locals. It is an indoor event so don’t worry too much about a coat. The Parks & Rec Dept. maintains Morsches Park (the largest park, and most visited). The park includes eleven miles of bike trails, a pavilion, a splash pad, the Blue River Greenway, a skate park, football fields, and more. The town also hosts the 4th of July fireworks at Morsches Park. DeVol Field has hosted several softball and baseball games during the year. There are also six lighted tennis courts and two sand volleyball courts as well as a fully accessible recreational area for kids with all kinds of disabilities and needs.
